What Is MLS Laser?
MLS stands for Multiwave Locked System. At TP Podiatry, we use the MLS M-Hi device. It applies therapeutic laser light from outside the body, without an incision or injection.
MLS combines synchronised emissions at two wavelengths: 808 nm and 905 nm. The technology is designed for the management of pain, inflammation and swelling. Manufacturer’s Device Information ↗
How Does It Work?
The applicator delivers a controlled dose of light to the selected treatment area. MLS synchronises continuous and pulsed emissions; the settings and application are chosen for the area being treated.
The aim is to help manage symptoms so that movement and rehabilitation may be more comfortable. Laser is considered alongside exercises, activity advice and footwear or insole support where appropriate—it does not replace addressing the underlying problem.
What Happens At An Appointment?
- Assessment: We discuss your symptoms, medical history, activity and goals, and check whether treatment is suitable.
- Treatment: We position the applicator over the area being treated and use appropriate laser eye protection.
- Review: We monitor changes in your symptoms and function and adjust the plan where needed.

Laser Treatment: Patient Reviews
Great results from laser treatment for my plantar fascia. Tom was really helpful working my appointments around my work schedule. Highly recommend
I initially viewed laser therapy as a bit of a Hail Mary after spending six months training for an ultra marathon, only to pick up a calf injury that threatened all that hard work. My physiotherapist recommended it as a way to support my recovery, and I honestly saw it as more of a complementary treatment than a solution. However, the results exceeded my expectations. I responded really well to the therapy, and after just six sessions the injury was barely noticeable. The treatment was professional, effective, and played a significant role in getting me back on track. Highly recommended.
